officially spring and festival season is right around the corner. If you’re one
of the lucky ones, you’ve already nabbed tickets to one of the most coveted music
festivals around – Coachella. For those of us who aren’t fortunate enough to be
heading to the desert this year, we can still feel like we’re a part of the
party by sporting the year’s most popular festival hairstyle trends.
popular trend carried over from last year, space buns are a solid festival hair
trend this year as well. Space buns offer a lot of flexibility – you can take it
to Princess Leia extreme or keep it simple with a half up (two petite buns on
each side), half down version.
we’ve seen chunkier, mermaid style braids worn quite a bit at Coachella and festival
parties, smaller braids are on the radar this year. Scatter several tiny, plait
like braids throughout your hair or frame your face with one or two small
braids placed about an inch back from your face.
three-day old hair you’re not sure what to do with? Frame your face with a small
Dutch braid and wrap it into a messy bun or ponytail.
extensions and wigs
predicting one of the biggest festival hairstyle trends this year is going to be
brightly colored hair extensions and wigs. Kylie Jenner debuted a neon yellow, blunt
bob wig last year at Coachella and it seems the trend is catching on. But, if wearing
a wig the color of a highlighter isn’t exactly your thing, try placing a few
colored extensions throughout your hair to get the same vibe.

your glitter because this trend won’t require much else. Air dry hair and spray
a texture spray like R+Co Trophy Shine and Texture Spray into hair. Using the
same texture spray, lightly mist part and crown of face or really wherever you
want to see glitter. Dust glitter lightly over spray and then set with a fine
hair spray like Oribe’s Superfine Hair Spray. Use different sizes of glitter
for a more dramatic look.
or bunchies as our friends in the UK call them, are back. To keep this look more
2018 and less schoolgirl, flat iron hair before placing into two high pigtails
on either side of the head. Don’t overthink this festival hair trend, the
simpler the pigtails look, the better.
